BTS' 'Butter' Breaks 100 Million Views YouTube Record in Less Than 24 Hours

BTS’ “Butter” music video is now the Fastest Music Video in YouTube record that hit 100 Million views in less than 24 hours (~20 hours & 55 minutes)!

On the officail announcement last April 26, BTS released an hour-long video teasr on YouTube with cartoon of a melting butter which in turn at the end after butter melted the title and released date revealed. Rap Monster (RM) told Apple Music, “we needed another summer song...” during an interview as they concluded for a reason to release summer anthem unexpectedly because of pandemic has no definite time to end at the moment.

After the first 4 hours the music video was released on YouTube, it was already viewed over 53 million times.

Upon the released of the video yesterday, May 21st, 'Butter' already hit and breaking records on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple iTunes even among other streaming sites worldwide.


According to the official press released by BigHit label, BTS’ latest summer anthem “Butter” released on May 21 is a dance pop track that easily becomes listeners’ favorite earworm, with its distinctive baseline and crisp synth sounds. It is their second English song following “Dynamite”.

“Butter” puts forth BTS’ unique charm that no one else can pull off. Sometimes smooth, at times charismatic, the duality of BTS, that they claim to “owe it all to my mother,” will melt listeners' hearts. BTS is set to have “Butter” first live performance on 23rd of May (US local time) at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMA) where they have been nominated in four categories.
